First, here's the architect's sketches of our floor plan so as you see the room pictures you can get oriented in the home:
Since these are just drawings, some little changes were made after this: On the first floor, we moved out the guest wall on the right side two feet and moved the right wall in that bathroom out one foot so that it was roomier; the screened patio became an open patio for now (we'll add windows later) because the wind coming from that direction would weaken the screens and we'd be constantly replacing them; the pantry has four rows of shelving rather than around the room shelves with an island; and the left side of the laundry does not have cabinetry, but rather shelving for me to sort and fold laundry. On the second floor, the "open" area to the left of the game room was closed up to make a storage closet. J & Z have the rooms on the right (J on bottom, Z on top) and share the jack-and-jill bathroom. M, T, and A share the large bedroom at the top and with a bathroom. E now has her own room (bottom left), much to her great pleasure, and her bathroom will also serve as the "visitor" restroom upstairs as well.
